late at night
arthur and a quilt
question the stars.
receive no answers
except a lone twinkle
and curl up
firmly liquored
vaguely sedated
throughly dismayed.

the following morning
cotton mouthed gin footed
melancholic and repentant

indulge gently with
currency hashbrowns
currency bacon
hangover eggs
and find solace in the promise
solemn of another twinkle.
