Biography To the reader- Thank you for taking the time to read my work, it means more to me than anyone could ever know. My name is Brian Anthony Hardie, I am 20 years old and I have been writing poetry for the last half of my life. My mother always told me to use my words and write down my feelings, as a way of positively expressing the typical frustrations and insecurities that every child has in their early years of transition into adulthood. From then on, I was addicted. Up until May of 2004, I was very secretive about my writing, I slowly started revealing my work to close friends and family and was eventually talked into submitting my writing to local literary magazines and websites. Inspiration comes from everyday life; from taking a walk down the street in Portland, to personal demons, to analyzing dreams. I grew up in Northeast Portland, going back and forth from my mother's house in the Rose City District, to my fathers in Parkrose. From January through July of 2004, I lived in a kitchen with seven other people, including my fiance, in a 2 bedroom apartment, located in the Parkrose District of Portland. Now living temporarily in Sandy, Oregon, this fall I am attending Mount Hood Community College with aspirations of obtaining a degree in Philosophy. I hope you enjoy the work that is presented here. Yours
Truly, |
